Fashion Pakistan Week Winter Festive ’18 day one started off with a bang! The three-day event featured some of Pakistan’s most cutting edge designers who showcased their most exquisite bridal and winter festive collections, highlighting the latest trends for the season. Day One of FPW’18 showcased collections by Tena Durrani, Huma Adnan, Lajwanti, Zainab Chottani, The Pink Tree company, Aamna Aqil and Hasan Sheheryar Yaseen- scroll down and have a look at our top picks from fashions biggest night below:
Tena Durrani
An all time favorite; Tena Durrani started off the night with a collection that had us in awe- a dreamy range of bridal couture ensembles that had elements of modernity. The collection was aptly named ‘Rara Avis’- Tena brought to light a range woven together with lush shades of rich reds, maroons and tangerine highlighted with heavy embellishments, mirror work and gota to add a touch of old world charm to each piece. The designers deep red pomegranate hued look caught our eye at first glace; a bridal fit for a princess the look was trickled with mughal floral motifs in shades of mint, orange, gold and silver- paired with a floor sweeping lehnga this is one look we can’t wait to see off the runway on a real bride!
Lajwanti
Rivaaj by Lajwanti brought out timeless traditional cuts and designs used in the pre-partition era. The stunning pieces evoked memories of bygone eras, with majestic traditional cuts calling on that time period through fabrics and colors including muted tones of gold, ice blue, beige, and mint green. From shimmery kaamdani lehngas with sequenced gold embroidery on pink hued kameezes to shades of blue front open shirts with low neck backs with gold tie bags and gold tassles, the collection had much to offer.
Zainab Chottani
Khwab by Zainab Chottani was an ethereal dreamy showcase inspired by the Victorian era. The perfect combination of opulent, traditional craftsmanship and antique supremacy, Khwab gave the quintessential vintage aura. Her collection had elegant pieces with cut work on sleeves and borders, shaded dupattas, sari tops with bow ties, kaftans with shimmer and flared sleeves, tailored sleek silver-grey pant suits. The collection celebrated timeless feminine elegance from subtle classic ivory to powerful hues that exuded charm and charisma, perfect for a fairy tale wedding. Made for brides who love subtle pastel shades; Zainab Chottani’s collection was a true dream!
HSY
The man who knows how to create picture perfect men’s wear looks; HSY closed the show with show stopping looks from his collection ‘Elements’ taking inspiration from natural elements and incorporating them into fashion forward ensembles. In true HSY aesthetic everything was designed by the man himself from shoes to hand bags- top to toe HSY was the way to go. Made for the suave gentleman, the range featured muted tones of black, navy blues, ivory and greys- and lets not forget HSY’s swagged out show stoppers Bilal Ashraf, Junaid Khan and Shehzad Noor stole the show at the end of the night!
