Faraz Manan
Faraz Manan’s collection was a beautiful amalgamation of East and the West and takes its inspiration from the majestic beauty of Granada and the spectacular fortress built by the Nasrid dynasty in the 13th century in Europe. Staying true to designer’s signature style the range was made of the finest fabrics including organza, nets fused with rich jamawars from the East. The color palette for the collection is also signature designer colors including shades of blush pink, sandstone, terra cotta, jewel tones mainly inspired by the colors and architecture of Alhambra itself. The silhouettes for the collection are more structured and tailored reflecting the grandeur of Arabia and modesty of Arab Culture. Heavily hand worked bodices paired with floor sweeping lehnga’s Faraz Manan’s range had a feminine touch with a splash of grandeur rendering these looks a top spot in our books!
HSY
A collection based on making bridal couture more accessible and affordable, the ‘Zmarei’ collection channeled swirling hemlines, gold edgings, delicate paisley motifs with detailed design. It projects silhouettes of flowing organza, draped watercolor silks, structured raw silk and rich velvet textures. In true HSY fashion; each look was a statement in itself with pops of rich golds trickling down each ensemble- layering heavily embellished jackets on top of lehnga choli’s, layering gorgeous flowing dupatta’s- HSY definitely knows how to get the crowd talking!
Republic by Omar Farooq
Republic by Omar Farooq showcased the bridal collection ‘Hunar’ at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week. The collection was inspired by the eclectic ancient art and architecture of the subcontinent and aims to bring the intricate detailing and unique artistry of the Mughal era to life. The entire collection was put together through classic silhouettes in a range of subdued pastel shades. ‘Hunar’ explored the use of a variety of crafts and intricate workmanship brought to light by the subcontinental legacy. Looking at art and architecture from the past, floral elements combine with an array of historic symbolisms that reflect life and beauty. The collection celebrated the confident, classic man- one who appreciates art and history as much as he appreciates fashion and beauty.
