A whirlwind of a trip; we recently caught up with ace designer Yasmeen Jiwa on her trip to the fashion capital of the world- showcasing at Paris Fashion Week the designer gave us all the juicy details on her experience! From days filled with meetings with the Oxford Fashion Studio to discuss backstage madness to model fittings and the show itself- the designer had a jam packed schedule preparing for her grand showcase.
Yasmeen Jiwa’s trip wasn’t all work and no play; when one is in Paris sightseeing and shopping is an absolute must and so the designer and her team members visited Champs Elysee- going store hopping and trying out French cuisine during their day out. Showcasing her collection at the Intercontinental Le Grand- a beautiful array of haute couture looks featuring Yasmeen’s signature styles and silhouettes combined with traditional hand work to accentuate each ensemble and truly bring Pakistani culture to the global stage. Spreading awareness and letting the world know beauty is well rounded; Yasmeen Jiwa was also introduced to the first ever model with down-syndrome, Madeline Stuart who has been recognized worldwide for breaking stereotypes in the modeling world. Madeline was the showstopper for the brand Levico who were showcasing earlier that day.
Once the show was over the designer had two more days to enjoy the gorgeous city of Paris; visiting important landmarks such as the Louvre, Sacre- Couer, and Eiffel Tower as well as enjoy Paris shopping and cafes. Have a look at Yasmeen’s trip to one of our favorite cities below:
