Project Runway: PHBCW Day 1 Top Picks- Aisha Imran, Elan, Farah Talib Aziz, HSY, Sania Maskatiya And Shamsha Hashwani!

HUM Network presented the 15th Edition of Pantene Bridal Couture Week, providing a platform for bringing the established and emerging couture designers of the country by rolling out the glamorous red carpet and runway. This season BCW witnessed the likes of plenty of relatively new faces along with cherished house hold names within the fashion industry- no bridal gown would be complete without fabulous jewelry; Hamna Amir stole the show on day 1 providing jewelry for Aisha Imran and Asifa Nabeel. With our top picks including Aisha Imran, Elan, Farah Talib Aziz, HSY, Sania Maskatiya and Shamsha Hashwani; check out some of our favorite looks from BCW’17 Day 1 below:

Aisha Imran

A celebration of contemporary textiles crafted into bridal and couture wedding ensembles for a modern-day woman. While the architecture of the Mughal era has inspired this collection, the style ethos reflects the designers own personal style. Hamna Amir’s jewelry accentuated each ensemble perfectly; it was delicate yet regal and definitely added some extra oomph to the looks! Aisha Imran brings back the traditional red bridal with a unique modern twist- combining the old world charm of mughal imagery with trendy silhouettes!

Elan

Exuding classic glamour with a touch of drama, Amna Babar took center stage and stood tall in Elan’s exquisite bridal couture gown. We loved the addition of a feminine umbrella and in true Elan style the outfit was adorned with a myriad of three dimensional flowers and hand made embellishments in soft pastel hues. Never one to shy away from making a statement; Khadija Shah went all out with this outfit and it’s safe to say we find it to be drop dead gorgeous!

Farah Talib Aziz

Fun, feminine and flirty- Farah Talib Aziz is every girls princess moment come true! The rose gold sphinx bridal was filled with intricate trellis of textures with the highlight of the ensemble being delicate french nets embellished with age old kaarigari infused with thousands of swarovski crystals; the designer offsets the entire look with the magestic drape of a rose gold lame dupatta that we absolutely adored!

HSY

Never one to shy away from setting trends; HSY opted to created a black bridal- something no one is used to seeing; the designers creation was unique, loud and definitely out there. A head turner to say the least HSY balances avant-garde with the traditional Pakistani bridal. With a pop of orange here and a splash of canary yellow there, an HSY bridal will forever be a game changer.

Sania Maskatiya

Sania Maskatiya always gets it just right with her breath taking bridals; they’re classic yet contemporary- the designer’s signature outfits are timeless and this year Sania stole our hearts at BCW! The ensemble featured an old school embellished kameez in shades of grey and silver; offset with a gharara and let’s not forget to mention the delicately draped tea pink dupatta complete with a deep maroon embellished border. Sadaf Kanwal has us in awe in this bridal!

Shamsha Hashwani

Shamsha Hashwani’s collections are consistently a breath of fresh air- the designers color schemes are forever vibrant; stepping away from the usual pastels we’re used to seeing! The designer showcased a festive look at BCW this year a full worked lehgna choli featuring lush shades of burnt orange and crimson- whether you’re a mehndi bride or you want to change things up for your valima; Shamsha Hashwani knows color and we applaud the designer for utilizing it so perfectly!
