The powerhouse that is Elan has once again blown us away with their latest installation of ‘Champs De Patchouli’. A gorgeous amalgamation of silhouettes, color and intricate hand work- Khadija Shah is known for constantly pushing the envelope and going above and beyond to put on a fabulous show and that’s exactly what we witnessed at the designers showcase! A night filled with glitz, glamour and tons of fashionable moments- we caught up with the creative head and got all the juicy details on inspirations and thought process behind the collection.

On speaking about the range the designer stated ‘This bridal collection has a lot of new techniques and patterns for us; we have 3D embellishments, digitally printed lehengas as well as innovative cuts accentuated with zardozi, tilla, heavy beading, pearls and gemstones that make the collection classically  Elan.’ On why she opted to do an installation piece rather than a showcase Khadija mentioned ‘I wanted to do something different; last year when I did my own solo show I wanted to showcase my collection with my own vision in terms of set design and choreography. This year I wanted to push the boundaries a little by having a display that combines the captivation  power of art installations with the dynamism of the runway.’ Being involved in every aspect of the art piece from designs to set up and music- the all rounder designer definitely knows how to leave everyone in awe!

Popular for experimenting with colors and cuts this fall season the designer changed things up opting for ’employing techniques and materials that I haven’t  used before, it’s thrilling to see the whole looks come together.’ Have a look at exclusive photos from the exquisitely made installation art show below:
