The Pakistan Fashion Design Council in collaboration with L’Oréal Paris, presented the 7th PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week. A three day extravaganza filled with glitz and glamour- we witnessed the likes of Pakistan’s top designers showcasing their finest designs for the Autumn/Winter’17 season. The show included fashionable moments by Shamsha Hashwani, Shiza Hassan and Ali Xeeshan Theater Studio. Have a look at our top picks from a night filled with fashion below:
Ali Xeeshan Theater Studio
Always one to create jaw dropping statement ensembles- Ali Xeeshan showcased his bridal collection ‘Lasting Loyalty’. The collection is a tribute to how the creator inspires us to create something beyond imagination. The bold range of designs incorporated luxe fabrics such as organza and raw silk and features tilla-work, pearls, naqshi, pasham, adda work and a revival of various old school techniques. The colour palette included Ivory white, warm yellow, blue, red and deep ruby. The collection boasts a variety of lenghas, skirts, and dresses across the range of 24 designs. With accessories to boot- each ensemble was highlighted with a quirky piece of jewelry whether it was a dramatic neck piece or a funky pair of glasses; Ali Xeeshan definitely knows how to put on a show!
Shamsha Hashwani
Shamsha Hashwani showcased her bridal collection ‘Kolpona: A Gateway to Nostalgia’ in collaboration with Sherezad Jewellery on day 1 of PLBW’17. ‘Kolpona’ meaning ‘fantasy’ in Bengal – was an ode to Bengal’s rich culture, art, history and Colonial influences. We witnessed a collection comprising of the finest luxe fabrics including raw silk, jamavar, organza and flowing chiffon’s- the bridals were an amalgamation of the designers passion for vivid colors and detailing. Incorporating deep rich shades for the fall season- the range was a breath of fresh air in the midst of everyone’s current obsession with pastels. It’s safe to say we would love to see a bride wearing a richly hued Shamsha Hashwani bridal on her special day!
Shiza Hassan
Shiza Hassan showcased her latest bridal collection titled ‘Aroos-e-Shehnai – Chapter II’. The collection, as the name signifies, is a manifestation of splendor and elegance. With its handcrafted intricate work and an eye-catching color palette, it brings to life the spirit of the wedding season.The olden days of the Persian era with water gardens and ancient architecture, come to life under the canvas of tissue, velvet and mukesh with embellishments of Swarovski and kamdani. We loved the designers use of unique motifs and patterns capturing the Persian art and the shikargah scenes pay a grand tribute to the Persian heritage. A delectably delicate range of bridal wear; Shiza Hassan created picture perfect bridals for the traditional bride of today.
