The International Edit: PFW London Part II- Diva by Sana Rashid, Maheen Khan and Noor by Sadia Asad
Diva by Sana Rashid
Sana Rashid stunned audiences with her unique formal wear collection- boasting a myriad of exquisitely tailored silhouettes the designer definitely takes top prize in trying different techniques! From asymmetrical hem lines to draped tops and made for royalty ponchos; we adored her take on eastern wear. Paying attention to detail she also incorporated statement jewelry head gear to add an extra oomph of glamour to the line; ensuring each ensemble looked like it was made for an old world princess.
Classy, Sophisticated, chic is what comes to mind when we think of Maheen Khan. The design powerhouse never over does her designs- she lets each piece speak for itself. This collection featured neutral tones in crisp whites, sleek blacks and shades of nude making it understated yet intriguing all at the same time. We’re gushing over her sheer white top paired with a front open coat complete with water color painted flowers in the lining, thus adding just a touch of color to the look; really making it pop!
Noor by Saadia Asad
Bringing her bridal collection to the west Saadia Asad brought a taste of Pakistani culture for Londoners and overseas Pakistani’s alike! A breath of fresh air her collection was all about feminine cuts, delicate hand work and pastel hues with splashes of vibrant colors! Making traditional looks with a contemporary vibe runway was lit when her elegant ensembles were showcased. Our favorite had to be her graceful silver and dusty pink outfit- paired with matching cigarette pants and dainty net embellished dupatta!
We couldn’t be more proud of our local designers bringing Pakistani designs to the rest of the world; a combination of diverse collections- each designer brought a certain uniqueness to the grand show and we’re sure we’ll be seeing many more in the future!
