This year marked Fashion Pakistan’s 10th Year Anniversary- Established in 2007, the local fashion fraternity’s representative body was created by the designers, for the designers. Fashion Pakistan pioneered the concept of Fashion Weeks in Pakistan with the very first Fashion Pakistan Week, held in 2009. Since then, they have continually looked to new ways to support and bolster Pakistan’s growing fashion industry. Day 2 and the FPW S/S’17came to an end with a special segment featuring the top designers of the country in the Fashion Pakistan 10 years celebration. The maestros in this segment included; Bunto Kazmi, Shamaeel Ansari, HSY, Umar Sayeed, Sana Safinaz, Deepak Perwani, Nomi Ansari, Amir Adnan, Nilofer Shahid and Maheen Khan.
A house hold name in the industry- HSY stayed true to his design ethos and showcased classic looks with his very special HSY twist with exquisitely hand embroidered sherwani’s, his signature black and gold looks and baroque inspired gowns we absolutely adored. The statement pieces were the perfect mix of glamour and chic opulence- kudos to HSY!
Color, cut and drama- Umar Sayeed gave it all! We loved his statement floor length kimono inspired sleeves and fuchsia lehnga. Popular for enhancing a womans femininity, his silhouettes were chic yet timeless and his embroideries were delicate with beautiful pops of color!
Every brides dream designer made a rear appearance on the runway this year. We couldn’t help but applaud and ogle at the sheer intricacy that goes into designing a single Bunto Kazmi outfit. The designer’s shawls are statement pieces on their own, made with the utmost care and meticulous craftsmanship. We fell in awe of Bunto’s designs all over again!
Always one to create the quintessential bold statement piece- Shamaeel Ansari amped up the wow factor once again at FPW17. We couldn’t take our eyes off of the heavily embellished jacket with three dimensional ornamentation paired with a floor length organza skirt- unique and elegant! Muted colours, innovative cuts, shimmer and intricate details- we loved it!
Va Va Voom reds! Sana Safinaz rolled out some of our favorite designs of the night with their crimson colored beauties! An exquisite mix of east meets west each outfit was an ode to the brilliance that is Sana Safinaz. Taking note to each and every detail- the design duo gave us major high fashion vibes with their picturesque ensembles.
Never one to shy away from creating a show stopping look- Deepak Perwani blew us away with his runway looks during the 10 year anniversary celebration! From narrative mughal inspired shawls to regal peplum bridals- the designer gave us a look into his wonderful world. Special shout out goes to his white collection; a lovely harmony created between whites and golds with unique silhouettes to create timeless looks that will never go out of style!
With a passion for vibrant colors his clothes are known for bringing a sense of beauty and joy all wrapped in one festive ensemble. His ability to mix and match bright hues to create feminine ensembles is a talent on it’s on- combine that with his use of elaborate detailing makes him a one of a kind designer! Strutting the runway we saw pieces like none other- from model extraordinaire Hasnain Lehri in a printed floral sherwani to Alyzeh Gabol in a multi colored exaggerated lehnga choli- definitely a very special treat to end the night!
