Deepak n Fahad
Amidst an era where exquisitely detailed works are the norm- Deepak and Fahad have designed a collection that steps away from brightly hued fabrics that have become a regular aspect in designs we see. The elegant regalia of ‘rind’ana’ includes soothingly calm shades, simplistically detailed in its representation of tradition and trends alike, carried a poetically romantic casual appeal & yet sophisticated in design. We adored their use of delicate embroidered embellishments on their light hues sherwani’s and waist coats- featuring shades of sky blue, mint green and off whites; the collection was an array of serene, simple, sophisticated ensembles.
Nauman Arfeen
Nauman Arfeen’s collection ‘Pukaar’ made a beautiful collection consisting of soft hues like pistachio green, pearl white, dusty gold evoked a sense of serenity, splashes of deep maroon add richness – depicting the spectrum of love. Inspired by the grandeur of the Mughal empire this collection featured menswear turbans, ornamented ensembles rendering the looks both classic and sophisticated. We absolutely loved the inclusion of children in the line; making it a fun and festive show to be part of!
Nida Azwer
The collection took its inspiration from geometric shapes giving us major gating vibes in some aspects-detailed with textured surfaces interspersed with intricate floral patterns and the ateliers signature bird and nature inspired motifs, incorporating detailed compositions worked in zardozi and resham to create awe inspiring compositions on regal looking ensembles! True to the designers revivalist ethos of using traditional craft in a contemporary narrative, ‘Alankara’ introduced modern textures mixed with classic traditional zardozi work across experimental silhouettes such as intricately worked trench coats, shorter structured jackets and tops and high waited gharara’s. At the top of our favorites from this collection were the intricately hand crafted shawls or chaddars featuring stunning hand worked embellishments and deep winter hues!
Republic Womenswear
Republic womens wear swept the ramp with magic! We were blown away with each and every extravagant ensemble. The pieces were heavily worked with lush Jacobean and arasene embroideries and beautiful embellishments, mostly in shades of sparkling silver. We loved the light and elegant colour palette of lavenders, metallics, pinks and golds. Lavish silhouettes inclusive of gowns, frills, peplums and belted shirts were a stand out feature of the collection- mostly inspired from the 1950’s fashion houses. Immaculate details and a glamorous design aesthetic, this range surely won us over!
Rozina Munib
The collection comprised of intricate embroidery of flora and feathered designs not forgetting the Crown Jewel. An inspiring line created with the designers passion for making unique ensembles! The colors focused an exploration with shades that ranged from rich spices to soft pastels of 14 different series of combination. The Soft pastel and natural colors were the highlight of this collection with a mix of shimmery silver, mints and light airy hues the designer created a like fit for a mid century queen. Using the finest French Lame fabric in most of the dresses-Rozina Munib made customized bridal and formal ensembles sure to be a hit at any wedding event. Distinct shapes and imagery blended with elegant and rich fabrics, her creations were nothing short of exuberance and elegance. An empowering collection featuring Mukhtara Mai, Rozina Munib truly warmed our hearts!
Saira Rizwan
Saira Rizwan showcased her latest bridal collection titled ‘Banaras’ at FPW 2016. The collection was primarily a combination traditional using darker winter shades over hues of red, coral, plum and blue. Inspired by the Mughal era, the collection blended together architectural motifs with the brand’s signature traditional floral patterns creating one of a kind designs with gilded gold embellishments with hints of silver that we absolutely loved! while making use of embellishments like tilla embroidery, screen prints and velvet as the key elements the designer fashioned beautiful hand worked pieces while maintaining the balance between modern and contemporary.
