Project Runway: FPW2016 Day 2- Arsalan Iqbal, Deepak Perwani, FnkAsia by Huma Adnan, Natasha Kamal, Shehla Chatoor
This menswear collection titled ‘Baroque Star’ was inspired by the grandeur of the 16th century with an emphasis on this era’s architecture and majestic baroque motifs. The models looked suave in their mix material ensembles featuring pieces with leather and velvet for the winter festive season! And those exquisitely lavish shoes surely caught our eye- hand crafted with black and gold embellishments they were real head turners. With a couple of womens wear gowns, Arsalan Iqbal fashioned simple, sophisticated, sleek attires with beautiful yellow gold hand work and regal silhouettes. We loved it!
The house of Deepak Perwani celebrated love this year at Fashion Pakistan week, the collection took inspiration from mughal miniature motifs and floral’s. The line of formal wear brought us an infinite array of festive colors and an everlasting radiance of gold and silver details creating outfits that were both striking yet sophisticated and elegant. We fell in love with the velvet shawls showcasing beautiful stories within themselves. The designer out did himself in all aspects from a stunning mix of shades to silhouettes that speak both to the traditional and contemporary bride! A round of applause for Deepak Perwani, for always stealing our hearts!
FnkAsia by Huma Adnan
Introducing an eclectic mix of glamorous designs, Huma Adnan showcased embroidered and sequence embellishments in her festive line of ensembles on day two of Fashion Pakistan Week. We witnessed tonnes of floral embroidered motifs on rich fabrics in voluminous silhouettes. The collection titled ‘Midnight Garden’ combined scattered and placed florals in rich gem tones including majestic purples, beetroot shades of maroon and cranberry concentrates highlighted with peachy pastels and shimmery golds- perfectly on trend for the winter festive season! So ladies if you’re looking for something that is chic, rich and tasteful all in one, FnkAsia has you all sorted for that!
Natasha Kamal sure has an eye for detail! Her collection comprised of clean silhouettes with a mix of traditional and modern cuts. The designer used a lot of monotones with pops of stark contrasts like the red and whites. We absolutely loved the skillfully placed signature gota, appliqué and cut work and the pretty embroideries and bead work, which added texture and refinement to the exquisite ensembles. The ramp was flooded with well tailored, statement pieces that would flatter most body types. Well done Natasha, this range was a definite winner with us!
Shehla Chatoor opened day 2 with a bang and left us enthralled! We couldn’t help but fall in love with each and every ensemble. The exquisite pieces were detailed to perfection with intricate embroideries and embellishments. The addition of pretty butterflies, fur and fringes added a chic and edgy element to the collection. Shehla chose a palette of lush pastels with pops of majestic hues- emanating a regal and sophisticated feel. Elegant and glamorous are the two most befitting words for this outstanding range and ladies, we are sure you too will fall in love!
