The most anticipated bridal show of the season took place this weekend! Pakistan’s premier luxury designer Khadijah Shah celebrated a decade of her brand Élan with an inaugural bridal show and unveiling of ‘Palais Indochine’ in Lahore- Élan’s Bridal Collection Couture 2016. The show was live streamed, with over 7,000 viewers tuned in to watch the magnificent 2 hour show.The first-of-its-kind curated evening was opened by an exciting live performance by Sachal Jazz Orchestra followed by the unveiling of Palais Indochine. The range was a burst of magic on the ramp with stunning designs, intricate details and stylish silhouettes- we were certainly mind blown!
Inspired by the French Indochina colonies, the collection featured Élan’s signature craftsmanship with innovative new techniques, pretty embellishments, motifs, hand embroideries and unique color palettes. Intricate, feminine and modern all at the same time, Palais Indochine has something for everyone, be it an engagement, wedding, or a personal ensemble for one’ trousseau. Élan’s take on the classic red bridal is a refresher for the eyes- embellished with gold tilla and thread work with an emphasis on subverting traditional motifs and reinventing them in a contemporary yet classic style. Élan collaborated with jewelry designer Sherezad Rahimtoola who created bespoke pieces to match the sumptuous bridals, with a mix of majestic yet contemporary jewels that exuded charm and grace. Our all time favorite from this collection has got to be the rich red velvet wrap ensemble embellished with lush gold details and paired with pants that are finished off with pretty beaded tassels- a statement piece we absolutely loved! This collection will have any bride spoilt for choice with an eclectic mix of winter hues including teals, navy blue and magenta’s. At the top of our list is a more traditional bridal gown with a deep green dupatta and a front open gold embellished jacket layered on top of a flared lehnga- a breathtakingly beautiful bridal that will no doubt make a powerful statement on your big day!
