PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2016 is a platform that endeavors to define and present contemporary and traditional Pakistani Bridal fashion, while fusing hair and makeup trends to create looks for the upcoming bridal season of 2016-2017. The three day event started off with a bang, featuring all the bigwigs from the fashion industry including Kamiar Rokni, Zara Shahjahan, Muse, Ali Xeeshan theater studio and many more.
One of the trend’s we picked up on was pastel shades- we absolutely loved Ali Xeeshan’s much talked about collection which featured soft hues of pink, peach and sky blues. Saira Rizwan created outfits mixing sheer and opaque fabric in strikingly beautiful mint and pistachio green colours. Peplum kameez’s are definitely going to be in style this season with almost every designer featuring this trend in their bridal collections! Shiza Hassan’s dramatic hi-low hem line peplum style kameez was one of our favorites- a traditional red bridal paired with a shimmery plain lehnga for a contemporary twist. Saira Shakira’s take on this trend is at the top of our hit list with a beautiful dull gold ensemble that transitions from a short top into a frilled sheer peplum. Front open jacket style kurta’s were a constant on the ramp in a multitude of styles and fabrics, from Shiza Hassan’s choli paired with an embellished net front open shirt to Mahgul’s ramatic color blocked navy blue, rust orange and white palazzo pants worn with a stunning sleeveless long coat. Heavily embroidered and embellished ensembles will be all the rage this season with designers loving this trend of creating opulent and regal bridal gowns that have left us drooling! Kamiar Rokni went full glam with his heavily embellished pastel outfit covered with intricately detailed florals paired with fully embroidered pants- we can’t get enough of this sumptuous look! Stylish sisters Mawra and Urwa Hocane walked the ramp as show stoppers for HSY in gold on gold ensembles with dainty pops of mint green and teal; further accentuating the rich appeal.
