Brainchild of Indus Valley Graduates, Fatima Sajiid and Ayesha Rauf, Khwaab as the name suggests promises a better future for the village women of Shah Faisal Colony to utilize their skills to create ethnic one of a kind home furniture and apparel pieces. The process involves the designers’ intervention to create contemporary pieces for modern day requirements, which are then translated into beautiful rural crafted products. A true labour of love, these eclectic pieces embody the art of patchwork embroidery and hand woven crochet to create comfortable and long lasting ottomons, stools, chairs, trunks and even swings and poufs in an array of eye catching colours. We especially like the pretty pink and mint green stool and can’t wait to get our hands on it at the Khwaab exhibition on June 3rd and 4th from 4:00 to 8:00pm at #94, 15th street, Khayaban-e-Muhafiz, Phase 6, DHA, Karachi. View the collection below and don’t miss out on the local craftsmanship that goes into creating these must buy home furniture and apparel pieces.
