Day 3 of FPW16 showcased the highly coveted and the most awaited collection entitled Kirigami by Nida Azwer. The collection mastered the art of using opaque fabrics such as silks, tissues and organza in various textures and layering to create a truly impactful collection. The use of cutwork, pearls, beads and crystals stayed prevalent throughout the collection with Nida Azwer’s signature dhoti pants and peplum tops making a reigning debut. Laser cut and digital embroidery were heavily seen on capes, jackets, skirts and saris that beautifully manifested the architectural landscape of an eastern era. Known for her 3 D motifs and her outstanding craftsmanship of nature in her work we saw the newly added 3 D swan and a plethora of butterflies and flowers in a waist-clenching jacket that took our breath away. The color palette of sapphire blue, ash grey and ivory white dominated Nida Azwer’s empowering collection leaving the audience truly awe stricken.

Zainab Chottani hits the mark in taking street style to another level, with her new collection ‘Cobalt blue”. An exceptionally creative concept, Zainab re-vamps denim combining it with organza and silk, styled in modern cuts and silhouettes. We were a huge fan of the quirky patch-work jacket and pants as well as the city inspired printed chiffon capes. The various bell bottoms, culottes, jackets, shalwars, pants and gowns were finished with ripped and faded denim effects for chic and trendy street-style statements. A mix of light and sheer fabrics added an element of versatility to the denim collection making it a highly wearable and hip fashion this season! Hats off to Zainab Chottani for cleverly combining comfort and style all in one!

The grand finale of the three-day festive FPW16 ended with a fabulous collection of none other than Shamaeel Ansari. Her collection entitled Yugure symbolized the hour of dusk and the Japanese traditions that effortlessly prevailed throughout the collection. Known for her contemporary designs with a modern twist, we saw the Japanese Saumrai warrior etched on silk flared pants and on a zipped sleeveless top paired with an olive green skirt. A prominent part of the collection was the cherry blossoms that were intricately landscaped on sultry silk fabrics in muted color palettes of earthy tones, pinks and purples. The off shoulder cherry blossom top clenched at the waist with cherry blossom flared pants proved to be our favorite. A very versatile collection of signature jackets, peplum layered and belted tops, trails, flared and straight cut pants the collection entailed impactful Japanese imagery in luxurious fabrics of silks, nets and organzas for the always majestic epitome of Shamaeel’s style aesthetic.
