Day 2 FPW2016 : Ayesha Farook Hashwani, Zainab Salman, Huma Adnan and Nauman Arfeen (Part 1)
Ending Day 2 on a high note Ayesha Farook Hashwani’s Oriental Blossom collection set the ramp on fire. Inspired by the Chinese culture and architecture the designs depicted pagodas, the chinese hand fan and cherry blossoms in an array of heavily embellished sequence hand work in dominant colours of red, black and golds that got the crowd swooning. Our favorite piece from the collection was the strikingly beautiful fiery dragon etched in all gold with hints of a red on a halter black sequenced dress that vividly captured the true Chinese essence. A true labour of the love the collection was glamorous and conveyed Ayesha’s design aesthetic perfectly through it’s jeweled belt, tassled jackets and long kimono sleeves. Paying heed to the eastern style aesthetic in alluring western cuts Ayesha Farook Hashwani’s hot off the ramp Oriental collection of Jackets, Capes, Angarkha style Kurtas, Halter and Kimono belted dresses stole the show! A ramp favorite Ayesha Farook Hashwani sure made the Day 2 finale of FPW16 a very memorable one.

Zainab Salman’s marvelous collection “moon struck” certainly had us love struck! We were swooning in awe in the ambient romantic vibe as the models glided across the ramp in delicate sheer materials and feminine silhouettes. Zainab used an interesting colour palette ranging from pretty pastels, clean whites to deep mysterious greys- wonderfully manifesting the theme of this range. Accents of elegant Swarovski and pearl embellishments, combined with hints of summery floral prints and over-sized bows added an edgy yet opulent feel to the flawlessly feminine pieces. Sultry dresses, slinky flairs, breezy ruffles and layers accentuated by folding and pleating techniques on single tone colourways made for simple yet impactful looks. It’s all in the details!
Known for her bright and bold patterns, Huma Adnan stirs the crowd introducing a new colour palette with her organic modernity collection. The subtle blues, whites, pinks and beige tones were relaxing to the eyes and the cotton and cotton net fabrics manipulated in the collection had a soft and summer stricken appeal. The collection entailed high low jackets, flared pants, and even a dhoti shalwar with intricate floral and motif thread work for that black on beige alluring impact. The ball gown skirts in rich cotton silk fabrics exuded the perfect spring summer breezy feel and the accessories game was also on point. The bejeweled cap, funky flats and the intricately woven threaded necklace and ankle bracelets sure added the winning touch. A collection paying ode to the organic form of modern fashion the braided hair do also added the wow factor to the entire collection.
Nauman Arfeen cleverly captured the freedom loving and resilient essence of the modern man in his “CARPE DIEM” themed ramp collection, with a profusion of earthy toned colour blocking in natural fabrics such as linen and raw silk. Splashes of funky digital prints on scarves and waist coats gave an energetic and vibrant touch to the collection, manifesting the verve of the free man living in the moment, ready to break all barriers! We especially adored the loose “patialia” shalwars- a stand out feature of the collection, paired with slim fitting shirts and impeccable jackets. A fusion of contemporary and classic eastern and western silhouettes, Nauman Arfeen’s collection uniquely channels the modern Pakistani man’s youthful exuberance!
