Maria B made waves ironically with an incredibly muted choice palette that rung true with refreshing and modern silhouettes punctuated with technique. The sheer and gauzy materials, liberally used in flares, wraps and peplums, were the real stars of this showcase radiating a persona of delicate femininity and elegance. The outfits are on trend with cleverly placed bows, ruffles and fringes accentuating the subdued opulent feel to the collection. We especially love the gorgeous cut work on the sleeves and pants, which add chic textural elements to the sophisticated pieces. More over the embroidery in understated tones contrasted with stunning shades of cobalt giving just the right amount of oomph to the evening formal wear.

Sublime by Sara won us over yet again with her pristine minimalism creating a summery and breezy collection in shades of soothing pale pinks, brilliant whites, blues and peach sorbets. Along with the airy feel the clothes exuded relaxed languid grace with the long flowing dresses and broader volume cuts. We adored the draping effects since it added a touch of poise, elegance and regality. She is on point with clothing that highlights the shoulders combined with both asymmetrical and defined cuts. Sublime by Sara is the go to designer for an intensely summer getaway look and the sporty monogram tops were a cute addition on mark with the sporty-meet-luxe trend.

This year’s Bank Al-Falah rising talent designers were a cut above – Unza Khalid, Hira Ali, Ghulam Dastgir and Saiqa Rahim each brought very individual approaches to the ramp. The contrasting collection of Red and white by Hira Ali had stunning modern cuts skilfully put together creating a unique ‘athleisure’ theme. Unza Khalid stunned us with her line of army green dresses and fun silhouettes. Ghulam Dastgir’s combination of white, blue and brown gelled impeccably with his quirky designs. In Saiqa Rahim’s collection what immediately captures our attention is the usage of bold contrasts of orange, blue white and green. It is at once a mix of contemporary and classic warrior-esque.
