The second day of Hum Showcase 2018 was all about designers making statements and showstoppers wowing the audience with their flare and ease. We couldn’t contain our excitement as perennial and rising designers graced the ramp, each one giving us all kinds of feels. Each designer had a distinct image to present – a dress for the modern day woman by Zonia Anwaar, a reinvention of the modern male fashion by Munib Nawaz, an ode to indigo and dye by Faiza Samee, a tribute to the art of silver by Rizwan Beyg, and of course, bringing forth the inner traveler and wanderer within all of us by HSY. HSY
The King of Couture always outdoes himself each time with one meaningful collection at a time. His collection, Musafir sheds light on the prospects and possibilities of the millennial generation. His beautifully diverse collection allowed us to awaken our inner explorer. We loved the affect of the traveling bags and satchels, the wooden-pearled necklaces and the chic scarves that helped add more aesthetic to the essence of the collection. A finale filled with vibrant colors, elegant embroidery and a fresh perspective on how to travel in style!
Nickie Nina
Inspired by the legacy of Mehrunisa, the Mughal empress, each piece from this collection by Nicki Nina exuded charisma and confidence for the modern woman. We were floored by the soft hues of white and yellow coupled with the intricate detail and placement of swarovski jewels, pearls and feathers. Definitely leaving us and the rest of the audience gasping for more!
Rizwan Beyg
Rizwan Beyg’s claim to fame as a designer is drawing inspiration from the simple things. From his cotton lace couture to his take on truck art, this new collection, Chandi, is an acknowledgement of our silver jewelry heritage and the art of the silversmith. We loved his use of denim and Irish linen along with Swiss lawn, compiling each fabric with heavy silver embellishments into leaves and flowers. Just the thing to add a little sparkle to something simple.
