Trends spotted at TFPW 2015 largely built upon the previous fashion week’s silhouette styles so we saw more ball skirts and even more capelets however moulded to fun lighter fabrics and colors for spring. Here’s a look at some of our favorite trends from the ramp that we see invading summer 2015!

Cutwork: This season at TFPW 2015 illustrated that cut work is definitely here to stay! Cutwork was seen at Sanam Chaudhri, Wardha Saleem, Madiha Raza, Nida Azwer, Daaman and Jafferjees. While some like Sanam Chaudhri, used it beautifully coupled with thread work as the focal point of their collection, others like Nida Azwer used it elegantly as supporting borders and cropped tops to finish a look. A particularly fun example of cutwork was seen at Jafferjee’s where zany, felt capes in deep colors like cobalt blue, were covered in circular 60’s inspired cut work.

Organza: Organza was definitely the fabric of choice this season and has made a comeback with a bang! Showcased in collections by Nida Azwer, Body Focus, Sanam Chaudhri and Zaheer Abbas, the beautiful fabric provided structure and sheerness the perfect combination for light yet luxuriant looks for summer. We loved how each designer gave their own twist to the coveted fabric, so while Nida Azwer went for a dreamy, romantic vibe with her French Trellis Collection, Iman Ahmed of Body Focus used the fabric to add grandeur to her Tribal inspired collection. Zaheer Abbas used organza to oomph up the sex appeal of his stunning creations, using it for ball gown skirts, cropped matador poncho’s and cropped intricately embroidered jackets. Sanam Chaudhri’s Zingara collection used the material to enhance textural accents; we specially loved her sheer, organza strip insert trousers!

Pastels: We love that summer appropriately meant summer shades of pastels! Pakistan’s scorching heat means that pastels have a particularly cool appeal to us. Combine pastels with liquid fabrics like silk, as seen at Wardha Saleem, and you have us in heaven! Sanam Chaurdhri, Sadaf Malaterre,Wardha Saleem, Nida Azwer all used beautiful pastel shades, ranging from a dove grey (as seen at Nida Azwer) to a mint green (at Wardha Saleem). We fell in love with this peach/salmon shade as spotted at Amna Aqueel on seperates that consisted of cropped tops, boho off-shoulder chiffon tops and streamlined cigarette pants. Subtle shades of dusty pink and champagne were also seen at the usually dark and gothic inspired Fahad Hussayn. Sadaf Malaterre’s entire 20’s inspired flowy line was in a singular shade of beautiful pastel, powder pink.

All White Everything: Right in time for summer was the re-emergence of the head-to-toe White look! Stunning, white billowy maxi length dresses ruled the runway at Zaheer Abbas, Fnk Asia, Body Focus, with white separates at Daaman and Amna Aqueel. White is clearly an option for everyone, whether you choose to wow, in a floor length dress or go for the more preppy charm of white tops and trousers. The best part about the all-white look is that accessories really pop! As seen at Body Focus with the gorgeous statement silver pieces in the forms of cuffs, arm bands and huge tribal necklaces. Zaheer Abbas’s gold belts and chandelier earrings were another great example of accessories incorporated with whites.
