Designer Debut: Tena Durrani ‘A Midsummer Day’s Prints!

Tena Durrani brings the romance of her evening wear to luxury pret prints with her inaugural digital print collection, ‘A Midsummer Day’s Dream’.  The designs have all the markings of Tena’s obsession with vintage 19th century European art captured in all its old worldly glory. An avid reader and enthusiastic traveller, the designer was influenced by the overpowering sunflowers in Van Gogh’s paintings, the lyrical passion of Spanish Flamenco dancers and the softly hypnotic beauty of Dante Gabriel Rosetti’s Pre-Raphaelite heroines. Throw in the charm of Monet’s Impressionistic palettes, and you have a highly evocative collection that pays homage to the past, yet looks to the future.

A far reaching realm of cultural and artistic influences from the Mughal World to the Amazon have lead to the eventual birth of the designer’s debut print collection. Tena brings all these flavours into a contemporary bohemian framework of feminine silhouettes defined as kimono capes, classic palazzos, tiered shirts, and Subcontinental shapes. The collection is available for orders at the Tena Durrani studio as well as for worldwide delivery via their Estore at http://www.tenadurrani.com/
