What’s in Store?: Zara Shahjahan Brings ‘True Love’ to Labels + Aaminah Sheikh for ‘You Matter’ & Designer Scarves!
Viewing a bridal collection on a runway and physically feeling and studying the quality of the intricacies involved in each piece up close brings in a whole new level of appreciation or lack thereof for the creator. While until now it was only Lahore that could benefit from the material realities of Zara Shahjahan’s luxe bridals, the efforts of Zahir Rahimtoola and the team at Labels changed that fact by bringing the designer and her entire PLBW2013 runway collection to Karachi. After spending an entire day in orders and previews, we met a very happy Zara at Labels the same evening and had the chance to examine the splendid floral printed lehngas and magnificent heavily embellished net ghaghra cholis up close.
Zara Shahjahan True Love’ Collection
The warm and wonderfully talented Zara Shahjahan
The event was a wonderful intimate gathering with models floating around in the spacious upper level at Labels and Zara talking about the different elements. When we told her her that the floral printed lehgnas were a genius idea she said she has been quite anxious about the response as they were a bit experimental but people had really appreciated the young refreshing off beat pieces. Zara’s collections have always drawn out out a highly discerning audience with an eye for quality and Karachi was thrilled to have her creations available for a private viewing.

Apart from her bridals, Zara also brought in her ready-to-wear pret collection inspired by ‘True Love’ featuring silk floral prints with a translucent chiffon overlay and understated sequin detailing. With printed floral pants and short clean cut tunics this is a very youthful collection bursting with feminine elements. The collection is available exclusively at Labels Karachi.

Labels and Ensemble Karachi are exclusively carrying a limited edition range of designer scarves especially created by designers Sania Maskatiya, Zara Shahjahan, Nida Azwer, and Daaman to raise funds for Breast Cancer. At Rs 3,000 a piece grab one or more of these very trendy pieces available in store and help spread the good word.
