Yasmeen Jiwa celebrated the 23rd anniversary of her eponymous label yesterday evening at her eclectic flagship store and studio with a fashion showcase of her A/W Bridal Couture collective; ‘Lace, Chundri, & Bridal’. The collection was bifurcated by textures that varied from quintessential chundri to modern crochet and lace steeped in intricate bead work and thread embroideries. Vintage gota, delicate mirror work and kaamdani elements adorned the pieces that were strategically structured from classic to modern.

The use of Chundri for pants and the soft asymmetric cuts with gota work were delightfully fresh. We particularly enjoyed the ivory and cream crochet lace ensembles paired with antique bronze spacious embellishments and the alluring black lace and net surface layered look over an embellished gold fabric. The crushed lowers  in rich hues shifted to a more traditional festive mood. The lehngas were impeccably tailored without a trace of the smallest untidy fold or droop. Dupattas were carefully crafted with finely detailed borders to finish each look.

Yasmeen Jiwa Luxury Formals and Pret wear is available at the studio while custom evening wear and bridals can be ordered via appointments. Stay tuned for the Red Carpet pictures from the event coming up shortly on our Spotted Gallery. For more details and to view latest shoots visit the Yasmeen Jiwa Profile Page.
