Misha Lakhani’s obsession with the secrets of the ancient Mughal and Persian era continues to enthrall us as she introduces her latest capsule collection for Eid this weekend at her flagship store in Karachi. The concept is both extraordinary and extremely clever, capturing the innate beauty of ‘Ari’ embroidery and ‘Jamavar’ brocade found on vintage Kashmiri  and exotic Indian shawls and instilling it in print onto a summer fabric palette. A wonderfully simple idea executed beautifully with fine ‘Ari’ needlework tracing the Jamavar colorful borders, the collection transcends seasonal boundaries as you can pair it with your timeless shawls in the winter and as is in silk with chiffon scarves or dupattas for the summer.

We especially love the paper thin floral creepers that run all along the sides and onto the sleeves, giving the outfit a little more depth and refinement in its overall appearance. The colors are are also in sync with the historic design element and you’ll witness Mughal garden greens, traditional mustard yellow and red, earthy brick reds, and royal Kashmiri blue among the sophisticated hues. One thing’s for sure, you will get a lot of wear out of the timeless characteristics of the ensembles that balance several occasion wear needs.

This was merely a sneak peek, visit the exhibit tomorrow between 3pm-11pm to choose from the complete range at the Misha Lakhani Flagship Store. The price range for both Charmeuse and crepe silk kurtas is Rs15,500. For more details and to view her previous collections, visit her Profile page. Happy Eid weekend shopping!
