“As a Yoga instructor I love inspiring my fellow yogis to think and dig deeper into the self. Svadhyaya, Sanskrit for “self-study” and “self-reflection” is often used in yogic exercises such as gratitude, happiness, forgiveness or silent meditations. These are ways in which yogis are able to self-reflect and recognize the need for self-improvement. Before we start our yoga asana we begin class by setting an “intention” thus begins the journey to discovery of the self. I try persuading yogis to keep a positive selfless intention of love, hope and self-improvement. This in return helps (myself) and fellow yogis find some peace of mind. Once our intention is set we begin our magical yoga journey and an inspirational music playlist is set to help facilitate this journey. On some special days along with inspiring music I read out some inspirational quotes.

Salina’s Top 10 Inspiring Quotes

Svadhyaya is an on-going process through which we assess where we are at a given moment. It is like constantly staring at a mirror and wiping away stains so we can see ourselves clearly. Its attuning our inner navigator and ultimately finding meaningful answers to questions. I need to let go! I need to forgive myself! I should not have reacted the way I did! To love others I need to love myself!

It is the ultimate road to self-discovery.
“Without self knowledge, the understanding of the Universe remains incomplete” Deepak Chopra

Salina Taqi redefines true beauty by following the path to inner happiness and beauty through soul searching yoga. After years spent in the mind crunching field of investment banking, Salina discovered her true self in the ancient art of meditation. Her yogic journey began several years ago in Singapore where she mastered the art form, ” I fell in LOVE with the mind, body & soul collision I experienced”. There began her love affair with yoga and she accumulated extensive hours of practice and training under renowned teachers in Singapore and Bali. She is now one of the most experienced yoga instructors in town and teaches at Studio X. Her second love is cosmetics and so she decided to launch her own company, ‘Salina Cosmetics’ which is widely popular for their Gelish-Soak off gel polishes.
