A fashion mega event spanning over six weeks covering six cities and putting together fifty shows, the 8th edition of the Seagrams Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2012 (BPFT) finally concluded in Mumbai on 3rd November. Now that is what we call some serious commitment to fashion! India’s thriving web of local designers form a virtual spice rack of variety and entertainment. Churning out a wide range of experimental unconventional as well as classical forms, the BPFT is a convergence point for the country’s most renowned icons and ofcourse they love to dress up their Bollywood muses. The event covered Chandigarh, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Gurgaon, and Mumbai with Priyanka Chopra as the official brand ambassador representing the label. Designers included Pankaj & Nidhi with their Liquid Gold Tree theme, Mandira Wirk, Nandita Mahtani, Falguni & Shane Peacock, Shantanu & Nikhil, and Vikran Phadnis to name a few. Let’s take a look at some of the showstoppers.

Malaika Arora was surreal in Vikram Phadnis and Bipasha Basu owned this glowing fluorescence by Nandita Mahtani however Sushmita’s Mandira Wirk went slightly over the top with the prom dress ruffled bow on the shoulder and excessive tulle if there ever was such a thing.

Malaika Arora an eptiome of grace, love the shimmering lace skirt

Sushmita Sen for Mandira Wirk

Sonakshi Sinha walks for Falguni and Shane Peacock pulling off the metallic  sequined number brilliantly with her hourglass figure. The dress actually managed to divert focus from her broad shoulders!

We  adore this liquid gold tree of life mesh cape by Pankaj and Nidhi, everything from the stiff overlap to the flared leg is flawless on Chitrangada Singh.

Shantanu and Nikhil impressed us with this marriage of floral lace and eloquent motifs.

Genelia D’Souza was blinding in this intricately bedazzled gown by Falguni and Shane Peacock; maximum glamour quotient.

Notice anything familiar about this Vikram Phadnis ensemble, the Mughlai topis were a prominent feature of Nida Azwer’s Chibhali Collection at Loreal Paris Bridal Week and we love them here as well.

Sania Mirza was the showstopper for Shantanu and Nikhil in an elegant draped blue sari dress detailed with a carved gold bodice, a great choice for the tennis pro!
