For all the anticipation and rumors that surrounded the Saif and Kareena wedding extravaganza, it seems to be over before we knew it. A short registration ceremony followed by a Nikah and reception at the Taj. If we didn’t know any better we’d say our own weddings involve a lot more hungama! However the affair was kept quite private as these things usually are, so the action caught on camera was quite limited! However we did manage to find some shots of Bebo and her sister Karishma aka Lolo from the wedding ceremony. All of Kareena’s outfits were designed by her favourite Indian designer Manish Malhotra and therefore her look was similar to many of her Bollywood movies where she has played a bride! For the actual Nikah however she wore Sharmila Tagore’s ancestral wedding gharara as per Pataudi tradition which was restored by Ritu Kumar.
For the reception Kareena wore a deep wine colored sari with a heavily worked sleeveless blouse. The borders were beautifully worked and the color was glorious on Kareena however the entire style felt a bit ‘been there, done that’. We honestly think Bunto or Faiza Samee would have done much more justice to the blushing bride. We actually preferred Karishma’s ivory sharara inscribed with antique embellishments much more! She looked royal and elegant while Kareena’s ensemble lacked the same level of regal appeal.
For the registered marriage Kareena was rather ravishing in an olive shalwar kurta with a traditional red dupatta and minimal makeup. We approve! She wore a bright yellow and gold lehnga for her sangeet however it’s too bad we can’t see the entire outfit!
