Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2012 concluded on 17th September and has gotten us all revved up for our own PFDC Loreal Paris Bridal Week scheduled for Oct 3rd-6th! The Indian show included a host of glorious bridal designers including our favourites JJ Valaya and Tarun Tahiliani among others. As always the show-stoppers were modeled by the pride and joy of India; Bollywood celebrities. Is it just us or is Nargis Fakhri consistently scoring the best of the runway selections?! She wowed us at International India Jewelry Week and before that at The Vogue Beauty Awards in her exotic Roberto Cavali gown. Now she has done it again as she models this ultimate regal ensemble by JJ Valaya. His royal collection was inspired by the Turkish realm drawing inspiration from the Ottoman Empire in all its glory. Nargis wore a deep rich, wine colored velvet kalidar coat with elaborate antique gold thread and zardozi work that we couldn’t take our eyes off!

Tarun Tahiliani impressed with classic bridal reds and ivory enlaiden with delicate sequins crystals and floral motifs over cascading layers of tulle. Chitrangada Singh looked angelic in her ivory and subtle pink lehnga.

One of the biggest misses of the night was unfortunately Malaika Arora who modeled for Mandira Wirk. The western wedding gown was an absolute disaster! Firstly the white was too white and the detailing was simply tacky.

Bipasha Basu posed for Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor, to be honest we felt the ensemble was a tad bit too busy. There was simply too much happening! We are still strong believers in the age old ‘less is more’ philosophy, even if you’re a bride!

We loved the display by Shantanu and Nikhil, the colors were a refreshing change from the usual reds and the detailing was exquisite.

Now that we’ve had a taste we can’t wait for our own Bridal Week to begin, wonder what the likes of Nomi Ansari and Umar Sayeed have in store for us this season!
