Shutterbug: Ayesha Farook Hashwani Eid Exhibit 2012

We can all agree it has been a crazy couple of months with one exhibition after another and multiple new designers sprouting up with Eid collections like never before. While it has been an ongoing battle of self control as we are overwhelmed with choices, one exhibition that we hope you didn’t forgo was Ayesha Farook Hashwani’s (AFH) annual Eid event held on 4th August. This much awaited affair never fails to impress!

Delicately embellished chaak borders

During this season a lot of designers tend to stock run of the mill clothes in the hope that women are just in the frame of mind to shop blindly. Or that fasting has caused them to lose their sense of judgement completely! Consequently they are swayed to create over done, below par clothes attached with fat price tags. What we love about AFH is that you never pay just for the label.

AFH is one of the few labels offering ensembles that truly qualify as Eid formal and semi-formal wear. It gives you something worthwhile that embodies substance and style. Blending formal elements with day wear is an art, it requires balance, beautifully executed by Ayesha Farook Hashwani. We loved the feminine pastels garnished with her signature generous neck embroidery and elegantly detailed jackets.

Wonder which one of these ladies scored the last of these lovely rusts!

Speaking about her collection Ayesha told Secret Closet, ” The collection for this Eid showcased a striking mix of textures on chiffon and a chic daywear range, where the emphasis was on colour blocking. Each ensemble was sophisticatedly tailored and charged with feminine sensuality.  To give classics a modern edge, we used pleated chiffon capes, jackets with light embroideries and appliqué cutwork on the necklines, giving the collection a distinctly-feminine allure.”

Holding on with dear life!

Needless to say the exhibit was a raving success with happy shoppers waiting patiently in ques admiring their reward for getting to the studio on time! Visit the AFH profile page for more pictures of the event.
