Did you go to the exhibition?! If you didn’t you missed out on some amazing stuff ladies, the collection covered a vast array of styles not just for Eid but for any possible occasion from day wear to wedding formals. We got there at about 10:30ish and the place was already in full swing with women carrying atleast 4-5 items each. Orders were also being placed on most items, Nida was there helping her loyal clients make difficult choices of what to buy and what to sacrifice if they must! The White label, a symbolic name, included her signature block prints in fresh turquoises, scarlets, plums, rusty oranges, olives, popping pinks, stark blacks, and ofcourse elegant whites. Speaking about the collection, Nida Azwer said, “With this Eid Collection, our design house brings to Pret wear what The White Label represents most; smart, trendy, chic, attention to detail, finesse in cuts and drapes fusing together making the perfect ensemble for the modern Pakistani woman”
Tasneem, Zulekha, Mehreen, and Nida
Our favourites also included the limited edition tukri and rilli patch worked kurtas and unstitched pieces. I myself managed to get my hands on one such piece in classic blue and white with Nida’s marine life print on the back and finished with turquoise block print borders. This rare cultural craft is hard to find and no one does it better than Nida with her love for heritage handcrafts, we absolutely adore the light pink applique Tasneem is wearing above.
Sana, Nida, Muneera, and Afsheen
Nida’s Eid collection included some exclusive aquatic inspired ocean life prints; fish, sea horses and octopuses adding freshness and her signature mark to the ensembles. The exhibit also introduced a revival of vintage kalami embroidery sourced from the Northern regions of Pakistan which proved very popular and was sold out in the early hours of the event. Drawing inspiration from the designer’s surroundings, each piece of the collection represents a manifestation of the designer’s aesthetic.
Nida and Aisha Amin
Nida managed to blend her prints with color blocking techniques as well. There were some vibrantly assembled square color blocked shirts in lovely Irish linens perfect for pret wear. Nida herself wore a cotton block print piece from her White Label debut collection. The colors uniquely blended with her cuts to give a quintessential Nida Azwer character to each piece. The women’s wear collection was based in boski, cotton, cotton net and silk.
Nida and Ayesha Moon
Maimoona and Nida
How adorable is little Aylia Azwer in a piece from Nida’s Kids line! The formals included pieces from her Parinda collections as well as some classic zardozi worked ensembles. In case you missed out the Nida Azwer Eid Collection will also be available at One by Ensemble and Labels boutique. Visit her profile page for more exhibition pictures.
