Bollywood Blast: Saree Spotting

filmfare 2012

The Saree is a truly timeless silhouette that never fails to impress. These Bollywood actresses enthralled their fans in these sensous sarees at the Filmfare Awards 2012. Deepika modeled a sheer tea pink net number embellished with lace and complemented by a mint silk blouse designed by Anamika Khanna. Dia Mirza went retro donning a simple cream saree bordered with black and gold  by the same designer. She complemented her vintage look with a gorgeous antique necklace and flat sandals. Kareena was her usual dazzling self in a neutral georgette saree steeped in kaamdani created by her favourite designer Manish Malhotra.

The ever traditional Vidya Balan, official ambassodor for Sabyasachi Mukherjee wore a classically Indian signature piece from their 2012 collection at the Apsara Awards 2012. Sabyasachi is truly the crowned king of couture sarees and we love the way Anushka Sharma carried off this velvet and tulle embroidered full sleeves sari blended with soft pink pleats. A beautifully balanced statement by the designer. Sabyasachi sarees are exclusively available at Ensemble boutiques in Pakistan.
