Weekend Obsession: Jumpsuit Up!
The jumpsuit is one of those fun looks that can be carried both casually and formally. After hitting the international fashion runways, jumpsuits dominated the Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 runways as well with designers like Shehla Chatoor, Sanam Chaudhri and Muse showcasing their version of the garment. The jumpsuit made its first appearance on the Pakistani fashion runway in 2011 in Sania Maskatiya’s debut Dilkash Collection and Shehla Chatoor’s collection at the Veet Beauty Celebration show. Since then it has spread among several private labels such as Aamna Aqeel and Menahel & Mehreen to name a few.
The cut fits in well with the cultural aesthetic at home as it blends in beautifully with an embellished over coat to sport at a wedding or just on its own for an evening out. Ranging from slim fitting skinny to a baggy, wide legged palazzo the jumpsuit is a chic garment , with a cut that can be tailored to accentuates various figure types and make almost anyone look fabulous. The look is perfect for spring and can be accessorized with belts, chains and necklaces. It is a more comfortable alternative to the ‘Little Black Dress’ and is immaculately stylish.
