Fashion ComPassion by Ayesha Mustafa

Fashion Compassion is a socially conscious brand founded by young entrepreneur Ayesha Mustafa in 2010. It is a global label that merges high-end design with ethical production practices, offering its customers some of the most eclectic accessories available in the world. 

Working closely with brands that employ marginalized communities and skilled artisans from Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Bangladesh and now Pakistan who work under the direct tutelage of some of the finest designers, Fashion Compassion provides a global platform where these groups can retail their creations.

It has introduced the handbag labels its currently retails at Ensemble, Karachi, These include Palestyle, Nawa, and Sougha. The labels employ Palestinian refugee women in camps in Jordan and Lebanon. Palestyle clutches are hand crafted,using Genuine Italian Leathers and gold plated plaques studded with Sworovski crystals in small workshops in Lebanon.

Sougha, a social enterprise ofThe Khalifa Fund in Abu Dhabi empowers Emirati women artisans by job creationand skill training. For this collection the women have created bags from biodegradable local leathers, and embellished them with the ancient Talli, Badla and Sheera& Sadou weaves.  

Nawa is a fashion brand which works with women in under privileged areas such as Haret El Naameh and in the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. Their new ‘Jean clutch’ is inspired by Jean Shrimpton,a British fashion icon in the 1960’s, flaunts a minimalistic look, geometric shape and retro-vintage feel. These box clutches are created with a mixture of nappa leather and textured water snake leather in vibrant colours.
